BASSA/JOS NORTH BYE ELECTIONS: MUSLIM CLERGY, SHEIK JINGRE BEATS RELIGION POLITICS DRUM.

As tensions continue rising ahead of the bye-elections scheduled to take place today, 26th February, 2022 for filling in, of the vacant seat of the member representing Bassa/Jos North Federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.

An Islamic cleric scholar living in Plateau State, Sheik Sani Yahaya Jingre who is the National Chairman, Council of Ulama, Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah JIBWIS watched in a widely circulated video making declarative religious statement, instructed his followers to vote for Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Alkali of PRP in his Jos north area of residence.

Jingre's Speeches as watched in a widely circulated video making declarative religious statement, were without any form of regards nor regrets of the current fear of disunity facing Nigeria's country's, Plateau State or Jos North/Bassa.

Analysts of Jingre's act observed that, divisions will be escalated by a vote which sees the Muslim minority in Jos North, voting only their own Muslim's candidate from Jos North-North for the elections.

Meanwhile Adamu Muhammad Alkali(Dan London) of the PRP is already faced up with stiff competition from his opponent Hon. Joseph Abbey Aku.

Although the call by the Muslim cleric was without any form of fear, contradictions nor consequences, from any quota, group, authority, or Personality including Governor Simon Bako Lalong.

Critical observations of commentaries concerning this events, revealed that, APC's votes will be splited amongst two or more candidates in one of the party's' strongholds in Jos north LGA which will be giving a clear winning chance to the candidate of People's Democratic Party (PDP), Musa Agah Avia in the today's election.

This is so because almost all the candidates  who contested in the APC's Primary elections for this particular exercise, have gone to also pick forms from different political parties.

According to an earlier published names of parties who are participating in the election by the electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), “at least not less than 11 political parties will be participating in the excercise ”.

These Political parties are; APC, PDP, PRP, ADC, ADP, APM, APP, LP, NNPP, SDP, and YPP.

It is on this note that , political analysts still believe, battle is between the candidates of the APC, Joseph Abbey Aku and that of the PDP, Musa Agah Avia .

Since the return of Democracy in 1999, the constituency had been represented by; Hon.  Lumumba Dah Ade of PDP, a Christian, said to had been sponsored by Chief J.C Dariye(1999), Hassan Sale Hassan of ANPP a Muslim, and sponsored by Da Jonah David Jang( 2003).

In 2007, the constituency was represented by  Peter Akuja of the PDP, said to have been sponsored by Da Jonah David Jang, Suleiman Yahaya Kwande who left to join DPP after loosing primaries in AC. Kwande was sponsored by Lt. Gen. JT Useni then according to investigation.

Kwande who is from a mixed religious family background of both religion ,Christians and Muslims “Chrislam”according to his father Amb. Miskoom Yahaya Kwade who once, on an on air peace discussion programme said, “My wife, is a Christian,  Mrs. Esther Kwande and i have a daughter who is a Pastor, I also have brothers and sisters who are Christians. We all live happily in peace and unity ”.

Suleiman's father, Amb. Miskoom Yahaya Kwande is from  Kwande, Qua'anpan Local Government Area of Plateau State, same Senatorial District with Lt. Gen. J.T Useini.

Suleiman Kwande had enjoyed the priviledge of representing the good people of Bassa/Jos North at the lower chamber, Abuja, since then until his narrowed defeat in the APC's Primaries of 2019 by late Hon. Haruna Maitala.

Maitala equally excaped defeat from a one time executive chairman of Bassa local government Council narrowly both at the Secondary elections and in the Court.
