APC Confident of Sweeping Council Election
The Plateau State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Rufus Bature, has expressed confidence that the party will clear all elective seats in the upcoming Local Government Council Elections scheduled for October 9th, 2024.
Speaking at a stakeholders meeting held at the party's state secretariat in Jos, Bature assured party faithfuls that the APC is well-prepared for the elections. He highlighted the party's preparations, including the sale of forms, screening of aspirants, and primary elections, which he described as "credible, peaceful, transparent, free, and fair."
The APC chairman also commended members in the House of Assembly for rejecting provisions in the new law that would have required all election results to be announced in Jos, the PLASEIC headquarters.
He urged party members to put aside their differences and work together to ensure the party's success in the elections.
The meeting also observed a minute's silence in honor of deceased party members, including the late Chief Sylvanus Manang, former State Publicity Secretary and General Manager of Plateau Publishing Corporation.
