Plateau killings: PDP's Akans BLASTS Gov. Lalong over recent attacks.

*14TH DAY OF APRIL 2022* 

 *MORE THAN THREE(300) HUNDRED PEOPLE MASSACRED WITH THOUSANDS DISPLACED WHILE GOVERNOR LALONG IS BUSY PURSUING HIS POLITICAL AMBITION*

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is again saddened by the present precarious situation the State, even though there is a government in place.

We are really devastated by this rising  ongoing massacre of innocent citizens in the State. This act of wickedness of humans against fellow humans has continued to spread freely as a result of the incompetence and nonchalant attitude of the Governor. It is no longer news that the People of Plateau have been living in danger and fear  for the past seven ( 7 ) years. 

The  Governments efforts to govern the State, fight terrorism and protect the people from this ongoing killings remains a mirage because  of the lethargic  attitude displayed by Governor Lalong and APC which  is a reflection of  incompetence.

 With all the killings that have been taking place in various Plateau communities, Governor Lalong has failed to take  on the spot assessments of the affected areas to either comfort the traumatised  or initiate actions against the killers . All the government does is issuing rhetoric statements condemning the dastardly act without any efforts to arrest the perpetrators. This singular act has today turned the state into a living hell.

  It's very unfortunate and shameful that Governor Simon Bako Lalong has chosen to abandon his people in exchange of his political ambition. He  has chosen to have a better priority in pursuing his political meeting with Presidential aspirants in and outside the country while his people are left at the mercy of their killers . Likewise, his APC  counterpart ,the deputy speaker who is representing the good people of Wase Hon Idris Maje is busy celebrating his lesser Haj in Saudi Arabia while his constituents are being massacred  with thousands displaced.With this bizarre attitude,they have not demonstrated willingness to give hope and direction to our dear people. 

 It is suffice to say that Governor Lalongs administration has failed to douse the already public apprehension  of uncertainties, rather this APC leadership is seen  in what seems like a cat -walk competition of looting public funds.

It is very unfortunate that under Lalong's leadership, plateau people have lost all the values that matter to us as a people, sanctity of lives, integrity, solidarity, honesty,respect and most importantly love . Governor Lalong and Idris have both abandoned and forgotten how to love and protect their people.

We therefore call on Governor Simon Bako Lalong  to adopt the security strategies deployed by his proactive Oyo State counterpart Governor Seyi Makinde in tackling the security challenges bedevilling the state.He should  borrow a leaf from Governor Seyi Makinde on how he has been carrying out his responsibilities in that regards because we can not continue with this daily sad occurrences of safety breach in the state,

Our hearts are with Plateau people in particular the affected communities of zak, yule,Nyalum,Bunkum, Sabon gari,Adua,a , zurak,and Bangalala all of Wase local government areas where hundreds of people were massacred and thousands displaced. In the same vein we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Garga, Carnage,Gore, Kyaram , Dunga, Gyambau,Shuwaka , and Kukawa communities of Kanam local government who were attacked on Sunday the 10th of April 2022 that led to the killings of 130 people with thousands displaced.

 We also mourn with the people of Rigwe Chiefdom of Bassa LGA who have been facing series of attack for the  past 7 years. 

 We pray that God will continue to protect and guide our people from these wicked men.

We are optimistic as a party that despite such clear, manifested,and collective leadership failure for the past seven years and at this critical time from the APC and it's government ,the PDP is confident that when it takes over power it shall overcome this wickedness.

We call on the resilient Plateau people not to be overcome by fear and anxiety but to remain strong,focused and be on the alert while we pray for divine intervention by God Amighty at this perilous time.

It is our prayer as a party that Governor Lalong changes his attitude for the good of plateau people. We believe that as a Leader it is worth taking risk in defence of the people at all times not just self.
