In a further demonstration of  it’s commitment and transparent stand in the distributions in doing its job, victims management 9-member Committee, led by former Secretary to the Government of Plateau State Professor Shedrack Best is about rounding up it’s assignment.

Preparatory to the round up, chairman of the committee has revealed it’s intention to give out some parliatives to the families of the Accident victims.

Giving brief concerning the committee’s implementation work done so far, chairman of the committee pointed that, “The journey has been challenging but uneventful”

“We have come from the point where we had many people involved in an accident, we’ve lost some of them some, some have different degrees of injuries”. Said Professor Best.

According to Shedrack Best, “Our responsibility, was to manage the outcome of this accident. Today, all the persons who were on admissions have been discharged.

We’ve lost about fifteen people from the first and the second accidents, recall,  “we had two major accidents and we lost in the number fifteen people”.

Best pointed that, “All those who were on a missions, have been discharged as at today, and we’re happy with this development.

So, what we intend to do next is to attend to the next of kin of beneficiaries, members, families of the people who died or were injured”.

Responding to question regarding what could be done to those who died, considering the fact that, some were married with families, while some were not and what the committee have for those who have families, and the children that they left behind.

The Committee chairman gave assurance that, all will be given due consideration accordingly.

“For each major Victims, especially those died particular, we are going to give out fertilizers,  because as you know, many of them come from the farming community,  we’ll give out fertilizers to their families, or the next of kin.

we are also giving monitary assistance, to members of these families of those victims, and for those who are children we have decided to assist system open accounts for these children and we will make some payments into these accounts.

“This money will stay there until the children come of age before the money can be accessible to them.

 The reason is to provide some form of security for these children into the future so that, what we give out is not immediately been used up by persons receiving these resources”.

 “We’ve also looked at family situations and cultural situations, to ensure that, we attend to those cultural sensitivities, where in some cases you fine either mothers or widow some people who died or  relations are receiving some amounts as determine by such the communities.

The committee will be going to Ampang West in Mangu Local Government Area on Wednesday, 8th March, 2023 to finalize the distributions to those affected Families
