Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Plateau State Executive, stakeholders, governorship candidate and former Governorship aspirants has held a closed door meeting as part of the reconciliation and forgiveness process amongst members of the Party.

The meeting which held at the State secretariat of the PDP, Yakubu Gowon Way, Jos the capital of Plateau State is meant for healing, genuine reconciliation and forgiveness so as to look at how to get PDP back to power in the year 2023. 

The outcome of the meeting, which lasted for hours was not made public as it was a closed door family meeting 

Recall, the party had on Monday 14th June, 2023 had in conjunction with it’s governorship flagbearer, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang held a family interface at the Aziel Hall, Eliel Centre, Gold and Base Jos, where the pastor Yiljap Abraham set the Agenda of the meeting with a charge during an opening prayer to call members spirits of genuine reconciliation and forgiveness to order.

The meeting at Eliel Centre had Party, PDP former Aspirants and flagbearers for various positions from the governorship, Senate, States and National Assemblies in the recently conducted Primary Elections, including critical stakeholders where most of those who spoke pledged their own commitment and support of towards Rebuilding a Stronger and United Plateau. 

The Governorship flagbearer, Barr Caleb Mutfwang in his remarks, expressed excitement over the development saying, 

“Plateau state that PDP has to put its house in order. Before the primaries, we were inundated with calls by naysayers that PDP’s ticket would be nullified, but today the ticket that is at the risk of being nullified is that of the APC; a testament to the leveled playing ground created for all aspirants in the PDP”.

Mutfwang told the gathering of the effort he has made in reaching out to some of the Governorship aspirant and his visits to two party leaders, former Governor Da Jonah David Jang and former Gubernatorial Candidate Sen. Gen. JT Useni to seek their counsel and way forward for Plateau State.

There was a brief message from Pastor Margret Inusa and Prof Sylvester S. Shikyil who both dwelled their points on the earliest on established  agenda of repentance, seeking for forgiveness and, reconciliation in it’s genuine sense.

While Margret challenged all who have wronged one another to be deliberate in seeking reconciliation and those wronged should be ready to also forgive.

Hon. Chris Adukuchili Hassan had on his part also, during his welcoming in a true sobber mood, told party faitfuls that the purpose of the day’s gathering was the family meeting for members to talk with one another, for truth and genuine reconciliation which must include genuine forgiveness.v

Remarks also came from the  National officer of the Party Vice Chairman, North Central Zone, Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, Senatorial Candidates, and some ambassador Bagudu Hirse who announced his exit from active politics.
