Plateau State former governor, who was also a two term Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Abuja has finally buried
his parents, at his home town Mushere, Bokkos local government Area of Plateau State.
The burial drew sympathizers from Political, different religions, traditional Councils, and all works of life to Mushere Chiefdom to stand with the Dariye’s over the lost of their parents, as they paid their last respect.
Former Governor of Plateau State and now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Barr. Simon Bako Lalong, said, Dariye’s parents were peaceful and hospitable people.
Lalong recalled how Late Dariye Mother, Nankaam Saratu, urged him (Lalong) and his Boss (Dariye) never to part ways, pledging that, her dead has now given them reasons to reconcile no matter where they had wrong one another.
He urged younger generation to learn living a life that will be worthy of emulation.
Delivering the Church’s remarks, President Church of Christ in Nations COCIN, Reverend professor, Amos Mohzo, described dead as evitable, which only God can determine the length of time one will live on earth and when the journey will be terminated.
The clergy, cautioned believers to live with the consciousness of dead, as the Dariye’s immediate family members, were prayed for.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government was represented at the funeral service, by Secretary to Government of the Federation, via Senator Tilley Gyado.
Meanwhile, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the State has also added his voice on that of his prediscessor (Lalong), in calling on the Dariyes to forgive those responsible for the death of their father.
He described Death as painful situation that always create a void in people’s lives, “but life must go on, I pray that God will comfort your heart and God will grant you the spirit of forgiveness”
“We pray that the good Lord will grant Chief Dariye and the entire members of the Dariye family the fortitude to bear this great loss, especially considering the circumstances in which his father was killed. Said Mutfwang.
Late Pa Dariye Defwan, 98 father of Sen Dariye, who was kidnapped and gruesomely murdered in 2020, took place in Minjing-Horop Mushere, Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA), of Plateau alongside his wife, Nankaam Saratu Defyan Dariye’s mother, who passed on Jan. 28, at the age of 92 peacefully in her sleep.
The funeral had in attendance Plateau Former Ministers, S.G Mafuyei, Jonah Madugu, D T Sango, and Pauline Tallen.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Plateau Central Serving and former Senators including Northern Zone Senator ID Gyang, members of the State National Assembly including Top government functionaries of the past and present.
Traditional Councils of Plateau State led by Jacob Gyang Buba, and that of Nasarawa State Traditional Council, LGA Heads of Traditional Councils with their Chiefsoms and district heads, including representative of the Tiv people were also in Horop show the Dariyes Love.
