A Monarch, Galadima Daffo of Bokkos Local Government Area in Plateau State,
Da Jonathan Sunday AKUNS,  has described Nigeria's former Head of State
General Yakubu Gowon as an incorruptible statesman of global ranking.

Akuns who is a retired economic and financial expert, beared his mind on the Patriarch personality while wishing him happy many more years of service in good health and prosperity as he pointed out some of his life achievements legacy, which according to him(Akuns), “Gowon the Legend cum a Living History of the Nigerian federation which he nurtured by the mantra of "Go On With One Nigeria" as a task to perform in service to God and mankind”

“The "No victor, no vanguish" handling of the civil disobedience aka civil war, the 3Rs & refusal to decorate federal defense and security forces with medals for quelling the civil disobedience is a testament to his virtues. This act resonates with the conflict resolution framework of his Ngas ethnic nativity; ngoh sit du, ngoh tu meaning "he who starts a conflict should be held responsible" as he did with the handling of the civil disobedience of 1967” said Akuns.

*General (Dr) Yakubu Gowon, the Partiarch of Nigeria @ 90*

Gen Yakubu Gowon is an incorruptible statesman of global ranking in the hue of Mandela, Theresa, Lincoln et al; a personae of fortitude whose prescience and humility are virtues in the walk and work in life that need to be explored and extolled for mentorship/leadership lessons.
Gen Gowon is a classical phenomenon of a gentleman officer that is an embodiment of the proverbial *good to great* in selfless service to God and mankind even at the higher ground of influence he attained in the vigor of youthfulness;
(1) the "No victor, no vanguish" handling of the civil disobedience aka civil war, the 3Rs & refusal to decorate federal defense and security forces with medals for quelling the civil disobedience is a testament to his virtues. This act resonates with the conflict resolution framework of his Ngas ethnic nativity; ngoh sit du, ngoh tu meaning "he who starts a conflict should be held responsible" as he did with the handling of the civil disobedience of 1967.
(2) his ouster from power by a 1975 military coup d'etat was embraced with equanimity; he withdrew from OAU meeting, addressed a press conference to pledge allegiance to the new junta and loyalty to Nigeria, he enrolled in Warwick University as a regular undergraduate & roused *Nigeria Prays* as a personal social responsibility initiative akin to society organising.
(3) while at the Nigerian helm for nine unbroken years, he pursued a resource beneficiation policy during the oil boom era of the 1970s by the famous assertion that 'money wasn't a problem of Nigeria but that of how to spend it' to create wealth for citizens as well as granting a largesse to a certain country.
Happy 90th anniversary of Birth to the *Patriarch* and the Legend cum a Living History of the Nigerian federation which he nurtured by the mantra of "Go On With One Nigeria" as a task to perform in service to God and mankind; best wishes Sir for many more years of service in good health and prosperity. Hip ! Hip !! Hip !!!
