It was a special Sunday service Today, August 28th, 2022 at  Church of Christ in Nations COCIN LCC Lohdik, RCC Dadin Kowa Jos Plateau State, as the New Life for All (Sabon Rai Don Kowa) marked their annual Day of Thanksgiving all over the world.

Guest preacher  at the Special Service of the New life for All, Rev. Joe Ajila who was a pioneer Pastor of the church, spoke on a Topic: “STRONGER TOGETHER” also took his text from the book of Ecclesiastes 4:9 -14, admonished believers to “Walk in Unity, as two are always better than one in with the Biblical directives .

Reverend Ajila said, “believers have to walk as a team, in order to face their enemies, as that is the only way to victory.

Using an Hausa adage ‘Sarkin yawa ya Fi sarkin karfi’ meaning, “there is strength unity” to emphasize the need for believer’s unity, the clergy challenged New life for all to be deliberate about their calling of evangelism and winning souls for the advancement of God’s kingdom.

“Christians should avoid the replicate of Turky's experience in Nigeria” said Rev. Ajila.

He further expressed concerned that, what the early missionaries had worked hard to preserve might disappear, if the church doesn’t wake up to reality saying, “for me, to think this will disappear is sad and disappointing without any form of doubt.”

According to Rev. Joe Ajila, “despite individual differences in colours
gender, heredity, Maturity, class,
Social and economic status, we, the christians, are all one through Christ Jesus”

“The wicked ones have just launched a project to celebrate Christians disunity in 2023. Unite against it”

“Christians have the chance to raise and speak in oness, love, and togetherness to conquer this situation but, except they unite”. The speaker reiterated.

He cautioned christians against calamity that might befall them if they choose not to unite. In his word, “Honestly, as beautiful as all those buildings, the churches now owns and looks, it will be uselessed by policies and I am afraid, it being sold tomorrow for what does not glorify God’s name”.

“All believers need to do to get out of this situation is to unite, love one another and act towards same direction”!

“Am a Christians and am not afraid to say this, christians must unite in action ”

He explained the foundation of walking together as defined in Trinity, God the father, son, and the holy spirit to be God himself who walked in oness and got himself manifested through his son Jesus who’s sprit abides with his people everywhere.

Giving example from the Bible in Genesis 1:26 where the word said, “ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth”.

On the whole, the speaker said, “The desire to walk together, to move together, to walk in Unity, must be seen in the church”

Wife of the Clergy, Mrs. Joe Ajila, on her part who had also gave a brief charge before the Main message, dwelled her points on 1st Peter 4, 7 and 8, to call on christians to Love one another, pointing that, “The world has come to an end as that is the only weapon of believers fight against the kingdom of darkness”.

Earlier, while delivering his weekly Sunday pastoral remarks, Reverend in charge of the church, Rev. Mike Istifanus, urged believers to “ Be completely humble, gentle, and patient, bearing with one another in love.”

According to the clergy, “God is aware of the different kinds of unpleasant issues the society is  being surrounded with naturally, that is why he gave us this scriptural injunction to guide us. So, I urge you all to as much as possible, be patience and endure with humility as those are virtues that differentiates between believers and other people of the world”

“Therefore, always accept events unfolding itself around, with gratitude to God Almighty”

There were song ministrations from the church’s various singing groups.

High point of the service was the song presentation of the NEW LIFE FOR ALL with a short playlet and choreographic performances on a stage, illustrating how christian communities are being innocently attacked, killed and destroyed but God in his faithfulness has kept the church and remained  the hope of believers despite all persecutions.

9 Two are better than one,
    because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
    one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
    and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
    But how can one keep warm alone?

    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
13 Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to heed a warning. 14 The youth may have come from prison to the kingship, or he may have been born in poverty within his kingdom”
