National Assembly: Lalu's tenure records huge success, as motion recommends re-awarding of abandoned Panyam/ Wamba Rd.
Member representing Mangu/Bokkos in the National Assembly, Honourable Representative Ishaya Lalu's motion for the reawarding of the long abandoned Panyam -Wamba Road, between Plateau and Nasarawa State in Nigeria.
Lallu who is the 10th National Assembly member to represent Mangu Bokkos Federal Constituency, presented the most critical motion concerning plight of his constituents for the completion of PANYAM BOKKOS WAMBA ROAD, owing to the fact that, it will ease transportation burst economic activities and promote inter- States Relationship and Unity between the people of Nasarawa and Plateau State.
Lallu's motion sought the re-awarding of the Road for construction and for funding to be made available in 2024 Appropriation Estimate got a wholesome approval by the House of Representatives.
After Lalu's non argumentative presentation on the floor of green chamber, the House Noted, that the deplorable state of the PANYAM BOKKOS WAMBA road, is causing untold hardship to the people of the area.
The House also noted that contracts for the construction of the road was awarded but the project has been abandoned as the contractor failed to adhere to some terms and conditions of the contract.
In cognizance of the need to RE-AWARD the contract for the completion of the road project to a competent contractor who will complete the job within the stipulated dateline and adhere to the required standard.
The House also take cognizance that the road if completed will ease the movement of people and goods from the area to other parts of the country as it is the shortest route connecting the North Central and the North East Geopolitical zone of the country.
The House Resolve to urge the Federal Ministry of Works to IMMEDIATELY RE-AWARD THE CONTRACT for the completion of PANYAM BOKKOS WAMBA ROAD to a competent contractor and ensure the project is completed at the stipulated contract duration and to the required standard
The House also urged the Federal Ministry of Works to make adequate budgetary provisions for the PANYAM BOKKOS WAMBA ROAD in the 2024 Budget Estimate.
The House further mandated the committee on Works and Appropriation to ensure compliance.
Recalled, panyam wamba road has a history of awarding and reawarding which dated 1999.
