Party Politics:  PDP BoT chair Jibrin resigns, Wabara takes over in acting Capacity.

Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, has resigned while the Party immediately appointed ex-Senate President, Adolphus Ndaneweh Wabara it’s new BoT chair.

According to different online sources, Jibrin who stated his resignation at the ongoing PDP BoT meeting in Abuja  said , his reason is to ensure the PDP candidate, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, wins the 2023 election.

This development led the Party to immediately naming of Senator  Wabara, the acting Chairman, Board of Trustees.

Wabara, was before now, the Secretary of the PDP BoT and he was said to be a pioneer member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was until 1998,  a member of the National Republican Convention (NRC).

The Former Senate President was also a House of Representative member for Abia State during the 3rd Republic Nigerian National Assembly before He proceeded to join the force that later became Peoples Democratic Party in 1998.

The Acting PDP Bot Chair was also an elected Abia South’s senator in the Nigerian Senate for two consecutive tenures.

Report also has it that, he was educated in the Soviet Union, at the Kyiv State University (1977-1976) where he graduated with a Master of Arts in International Relations with distinction.
